Description
Impact: This chapter presents a roadmap towards the implementation of a corporate approach to sustainable resource development. The piece argues that such an approach cannot be undertaken by a government or other institution in isolation but must be addressed as a pervasive concern which every stakeholder and institution in the African extractive industry needs to engage with. With a particular focus on Angola, this piece makes an important contribution while defining the roadmap for corporations operating in African resource-based economies. Angola has undergone major transformations in this area over the past years. Yet, there are capacity-building gaps, particularly at the government level, which need to be addressed in order to assist corporations in meeting the requirements of sustainable resource development.
