The Exceptional Women in Sustainability Awards are held in our annual ceremony at the Women in Sustainability Forum. Our awardees are hard-working visionaries who take action ‘to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs’. They lead, create and innovate in an emerging global order. Ultimately, their ambition is to shape a sustainable future and make a difference. 

Our Exceptional Women in Sustainability Award is presented each year to outstanding women contributing to sustainable development through their work. We have a dedicated award solely for women as we recognize the gendered norms and barriers women still face and the doubled effort for impacts our inspirational futurists are making. The following are our Exceptional Women in Sustainability to date. Based on the criteria below, submit nominations to the form: 

Nomination criteria:

• Take on the leadership of eWisely network in their home countries.  
• Contribute with initiatives of raising funds for the development of activities aimed at positioning women as the center of global/local sustainability agendas
• Establish partnerships to develop collaborative projects across the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and interlinkages with the SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
• Actively participate in the Women Sustainability Forum and eWisely networks, supporting debates in one or several of our thematic areas
• Support and promote women in their regions to strengthen their professional development through our enablers, namely: education, entrepreneurship, leadership, employment and innovative use of technology.
• Create awareness among stakeholders (companies, government and civil society) on issues related to the Sustainable Development Goal 5 and/or broader sustainability issues related to women.
