Our Story
Since the establishment of IBF as a global connector in 2014, our international community has evolved to become a decentralized consulting think tank of sustainable solutions. We stay true to our purpose and to guide how we work and the decisions we make to shape a better and sustainable future for all.
In 2017, after the success of the global connector ‘Exceptional Women in Sustainability’ e-Wisely, the International Innovation Board for Better Futures was created whilst launching the Women Sustainability Forum, which heralded the beginning of IBF’s expansion as an international, decentralized consulting think tank.

Since our establishment in 2014, IBF has evolved to become a decentralized consulting firm of sustainable solutions. We stay true to our purpose and to guide how we work and the decisions we make to shape a sustainable future for all.
IBF launched the Women Sustainability Forum and pioneered the Master Class ‘Gender approach to social impact assessment in the mining industry in Latin America’ at IBF Women Sustainability Forum 2015. IBF also delivered the 2030 Roadmap to Sustainable Resource Development in alignment with the African Mining Vision.
IBF launched the digital community and global network eWisely that stands for Exceptional Women in Sustainability. eWisely is the fastest-growing, global connector of exceptional women in sustainability science, policy and practice with +10000 exceptional women and champions in +60 locations worldwide.
In partnership with the United Nations, IBF pioneered the Sustainable Value Creation Business Model. The model assists businesses to meet the long-term economic, social and environmental objectives and expectations of investors, stakeholders and communities in Asia and the Pacific.
In partnership with the United Nations University, IBF delivers the first component of the project ‘Global Networks for Impact Sustainability’. Outcomes were presented at the United Nations RCE Global Conference and the OECD Forum on Responsible Business Conduct.
The International Board for Sustainable Futures (IBF) was created, which heralded the beginning of IBF’s expansion as an international, decentralized consulting think tank.

IBF launches the Exceptional Women and Champions in Sustainability Awards. An acknowledgement presented each year to outstanding women and men contributing to sustainable development through their work. In 2021, IBF acknowledged the work of past and present collaborators.
